Welcome Party

Last September 28th we had our "Welcome Party" and it was a very special moment for us. Each member of our team presented their country informally.  It was good, because each presentation managed to have a special and personal touch. Together we brought the flavors of our countries and the visitors could taste a little of each country. We weren't expecting to receive so many people in our event.  In fact, we were very pleased with the reception from the community in general and also from the other volunteers, who are participating in others EVS Project in Rezekne. Mikeldienas Gadatirgus Rezekne

On the past September 30th, we had the opportunity to experience a Latvian celebration here in Rezekne. It was amazing to see the "Latgales iela" full of people and to be able to understand a little more about this rich and diverse culture. So many colors, so many dances, so many melodies. It was so great to see people of all ages in this event. This event is connected with the autumn solstice and it is a celebration which represents the respect that we must have with our land/ground (that gives us so much). In this celebration, we can also see a typical Latvian market, where people bought products to prepare themselves for the cold season. It was a very warm atmosphere with good music and happy people.  Here are some photos of the event:

Are you ready to meet us?    Guys, as you know, new EVS project just started at Culture House of National Minorities of Rezekne. We decide that it is time to prepare a welcome party for the citizens.                  What to expect?         We will tell you about our ideas in different workshops, which will inspire you to make some changes in your life and habits.     Be ready to learn something about our countries and cultures, way of life, some interesting facts.        Of course we will share with you our impressions about Latvia.     We, The Inspiring Ambassadors of the Cultures are expecting you on our welcome party at JORIKS Theatre on September 28 th , at 17.30 o’clock.       Don’t miss the opportunity to learn new things, try some traditional food or dance.       Be there. The fun is guarantee.
