Are you interested to see our LOGO? During the second week of our living and volunteering here, as an Inspiring Ambassadors of Cultures, we decided to create our logo.   The logo included national symbols of each country, Portugal, Macedonia and Belarus. 1.        As you can guess, the branch of olive represents Portugal, country located in the Western part of Europe. The history of the olive tree is as old as the existence of the people of the Mediterranean. Immortal tree of enormous wealth. The most important symbols attributed to the olive are: victory, peace, progress, abundance, wisdom, justice, fertility, purification, divinity, strength, reward, among others.  The ancients whenever they wanted to search for water and make a hole to use it. Why we love Rezekne? Are you tired of your work, obligation, and no fresh air? You need a vacation? Then you are ready to come to Rezekne. This is our conclusion about this beautiful Latvian city after 10 days spent here. By now, we are so happy for being here. We especially enjoy the relaxing atmosphere during morning coffee because it is so peaceful, quiet and fresh air is coming inside through the opened windows. When you walk down the Rezekne’s streets you feel like you are in heaven. Everything is so green, with lot of flowers and big trees. You can never get tired of walking here, because the traffic is well organized, paths for walking are big enough and people are not too loud. We like the nature here. There are no big shops and stores who will ruin the environment. In fact, you have everything you need and nothing is too much. We have visited few places, and we had a great day by the small lake where people are relaxing, kids are playing, running

Hi I'm from Macedonia!

My name is Vaska Sarafiloska. I come from Ohrid, the most beautiful city in Macedonia. I am 26 years old. I am a journalist, so that is why I am interested in everything. Beside studying and working, I dedicated my whole life in saving stray dogs and cats and helping homeless people. Why I decided to volunteer in Latvia? I want to be part of the project named “Inspired Ambassadors of the Cultures“ that is happening here in Latvia because on one side is like part of my job, to discover other places, their way of life etc and on the other hand I think that is really important for us to learn a lot about different cultures and to accept them. Also, as I am a traveler, I have never been in this part of Europe so I am really excited for having the chance to live here for a year and to explore this part of Europe. I think I am ready to deal with the cold weather too. ☺ What I expect from the project? First, I want to introduce my country which is really beautiful, with lot of history, great

Hi I'm from Portugal.

My name is Mafalda, but my friends treat me like “Mafi”. This project appeared at the right time of my life. And I have to thank to the BABELESCOLA Association for that. I born in Barreiro, Portugal, in 1987. Soon noticed that I lived in a networked world and always believed that this network would allow the appreciation of the principle of heterogeneity in human life.  In my opinion, cultural differences should connect us more, than to separate us. Respect and tolerance are fundamental to everything on life. For that reason, I did my initial formation in Philosophy and I did my master's degree in Art Education. My interests and action consist on mediation and cultural production within the community, education, arts and culture expressions, performative arts, active citizenship, participatory democracy, sustainability and ecology. Having worked in schools and museums, I see a great challenge working in Joriks Theater and believe that I may find an openness and cultural offer
